Our Philosophy

Our methods and philosophy in swimming develop each athlete to their best potential while creating an atmosphere where athletes will grow, develop friendships and hold all the tools necessary to thrive. Practices and swim meets are an important key to each athlete’s success. Lessons are available for swimmers wishing to swim for exercise and learn at an uncompetitive pace. Our vision is to accommodate all athletes.

USA Swimming Registration

The USA swimming registration is the membership that allows swimmers to participate in the sport under USA swimming regulations and at the same time is the proof of insurance for the swim team and all athletes. The USA Swimming rules are mandatory to follow. We are not permitted to allow unregistered swimmers to swim with the program.

USA Swimming Registration Fee:

This fee is only for new swim team members. This membership will need to be renewed on September 2025.

The fees for USA Swimming registration are:

  • Outreach $ 5.00
  • FULL MEMBERSHIP $ 86.00
  • FLEX $ 35.00 (FLEX membership is available for swimmers 12 yrs & under only / it allows that swimmer to participate in 2 swim meets only from September 2024 to September 2025.

All new swim team swimmers will need to pay a separate registration for the USA swimming membership. After we receive the team registration, we will submit and pay for the USA swimming registration on your behalf and then, we will invoice you the corresponding fee for that registration.

Swimmers that are currently registered with USA swimming are not required to renew the registration until September 2025. Swimmers with current FLEX membership will need to upgrade to Full membership, only if they participated in 2 swim meets during the fall to winter session or if they qualify to Summer 2025 Metropolitan Summer Championships.

ATHLETE PROTECTION TRAINING – MAAPP

The Athlete Protection Training is provided through the U.S. Center for SafeSport. The required course is found on your USA Swimming Account under the Education tab and must be renewed annually.  All new and existing adult members of USA Swimming, including adult athletes, must satisfactorily complete Athlete Protection Training as required by the U.S. Center for SafeSport.

As a membership requirement, adult athletes who are currently 18 and older must complete this training by June 23rd. Those who are 17, about to turn 18, must complete this training by their 18th birthday. Successful completion the training, on an annual basis, is now a membership requirement of adult athletes, and failure to complete it will result in an athlete’s inability to swim in a meet or at practice.

Swim Meets and Swim Meet Fees

Swim meet participation is offered on various weekends. JUNIOR and SENIOR training groups, are required to attend at least 2 swim meets per season. Swim meets for STREAMLINE and BREAKOUT training groups is encouraged, though optional. Our team typically attends 5 to 7 meets during the Fall and Winter seasons and 3 to 4 meets during the Spring to Summer season.

Please be aware that meet hosts levy fees to cover the operational costs of these events. These fees generally range from $8.00 to $12.00 per individual race/event, and may also include a facility surcharge. For your convenience, swim meet fees will be automatically processed and charged to the credit card on file the day following the completion of the swim meet.

Prior to each swim meet, a detailed flyer provided by the host organization, outlining the initial meet schedule and associated fees, will be distributed via email. We strongly advise reviewing this flyer thoroughly before committing your swimmer(s) to any event. Following the dissemination of the swim meet information email, parents will be responsible for registering their swimmers by the communicated deadlines. As previously stated, swim meet participation remains optional.

To register your swimmer(s) for a specific swim meet, please log in to your Commit Swimming parent portal account and select the desired session(s) for attendance.

Important: Unless explicitly stated otherwise, there will be no scheduled swim practices on any designated Swim Meet days.

Once a swimmer is committed and officially registered for a swim meet, the associated fees are immediately locked in by the host organization. Consequently, should a swimmer need to withdraw (scratch) from a meet or any individual race for any reason, the meet host will still impose the charges for those entries, and you will remain responsible for remitting the full swim meet fee.
